Northwest’s Blue Spec Shear gold project, located in the Nullagine goldfield less than 2 hour’s drive from the Pilbara hub of Newman, is one of the highest grade gold projects in Australia with a current JORC resource of 190,000 ounces gold grading 43.3 g/t with excellent potential to significantly expand the resource.
The Blue Spec deposit, the most advanced resource within the Blue Spec Shear gold project, is at the development stage and is currently the subject of an advanced diamond drilling programme targeting a revised JORC resource at the deposit of at least 300,000 ounces gold and 7,000 tonnes of contained antimony to underpin a high-grade, low cost underground mining operation over an initial 5 year mine life.
Northwest has a very strong technical team which applies innovative exploration techniques and rigorous technical evaluation to its projects with a focus on in-ground exploration expenditure and low administration costs. Since listing in December 2004 Northwest has completed over 70,000m of RC and diamond drilling.
This approach has resulted in immediate exploration success and, for the first time, the recognition of the Blue Spec Shear gold project’s potential to host over 1 million ounces in high-grade gold deposits. With continuing exploration success, Northwest is well placed to realize this potential and achieve substantial resource growth and project longevity..
Northwest is listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX code: NWR).
